Gosling Czubak provided support services as part of the planning team to assess and make recommendations for the City of East Jordan’s waterfront sub-area short and long-term planning goals. The focus of the study was assessing existing conditions and developing guidelines for an identifiable, uniform waterfront corridor that preserved the character and history of the area while creating an environment that is attractive to prospective development.

The public process included several public input sessions to generate meaningful input. Recommendations were made for the waterfront sub-area to guide future development of the streetscape corridor and focused on signage, wayfinding, plantings, pedestrian and vehicular circulation, uniform materials and sustainable stormwater management. The plan and recommendations will also aid the city in securing funding through multiple agencies for future waterfront and streetscape improvements.
