Development

A UST closure assessment completed during tank upgrades identified soil and groundwater contamination. Initial response activities included removal of six UST’s and associated piping. The UST excavation was dewatered as part of removal and new tank installation activities. Contaminated groundwater was treated with a two-stage granular activated carbon system with the treated water discharged, under an NPDES permit, to the Elk River. In addition, contaminated soil was excavated and removed from the site.
