Soils play an important role in our lives and the things we build. Most buildings, bridges, and roads are supported by soils. Large dams, levees and other structures are made out of soil. The proper placement and compaction of these soils is critical to achieve the required engineering properties. Onsite density testing determines if the necessary compaction has been attained during placement of fill material. Penetrometer testing helps determine if native soils have the ability to support the proposed loads of buildings or other structures. Laboratory tests on soils help define critical engineering properties for the design of projects

Gosling Czubak's aggregate and soil testing laboratory is accredited by AASHTO. The accreditation process includes regular checking and calibration of testing equipment, training and verifying testing procedures, annual proficiency testing, and periodic laboratory inspections by AASHTO.
