GCES Field Codes

1. Curves are 3-point curves if there is no “T” to end the curve in the figure.

2. If there is a “T”, all preceding points to the “C” are on a curve.

3. A curve between two tangents can be created by adding “OC” as a single point at the middle of the curve. This automatically creates a curve that is tangent to the straight segments before and after this point.

4. Double Codes – the first code MUST be the symbol code for that point if it applies.

5. The / character is used to designate a note after the field codes. There must ALWAYS be a space before AND after the / character.

6. Specific Tree Code Example (Apple Tree): <b>AP / 8 (2)</B>

Code / #(caliper) (#)(number in clump)

Single trees do not need the number in clump designation.

7. Generic Tree Code Example: <b>DT / 8 MAPLE (2)</b>

Code / #(caliper) SPECIES (#)(number in clump)

Single trees do not need the number in clump designation.

8. Shrub Code Example: <b>CS / #</b>

Code / #(dia. in feet)

9. Minus (-) in a command # is left or down

10. JOG#, RECT#, OH#, OV#, RPN#, command must be the last command in a command line
