The Crescent Shores Boating Access Site is one of only two public launch sites on Long Lake. This project involved redesigning the existing road end, single-lane small boat launch and developing an off-road parking facility on the newly-acquired 11.2 acres of land. Solving safety and barrier free access across Crescent Shores Road was a major objective of the project, requiring careful coordination among multiple stakeholder groups. Conceptual design and preliminary engineering were supported by a MDNR Waterways grant. A second Waterways grant was secured in 2016 to help construct the project. Construction was complete in thal fall of 2017.
