LaFranier Village is a mixed residential and commercial development on approximately 27.8 acres consisting of apartment units, single-family homes, townhouse units and commercial buildings. The project was designed to create a neighborhood environment that would allow persons from different income levels to interact, as well as providing home ownership opportunities near rental apartments. Gosling Czubak collaborated with the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA) and Garfield Towship to create the community.
