The Thunder Bay River Waterfront in Atlanta provides access to almost 1800 feet of riverfront within the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund urbanized area. The river frontage provides access to various forms of seasonal fishing and waterborne and land-based recreational activities. In 2017, Briley Township secured an MNRTF grant with the assistance of Gosling Czubak to begin redevelopment of the riverfront.
The Briley Park Riverfront revitalization project aims to provide, upgrade and enhance natural resource access to the river resource, connectivity within and between park elements, universal accessibility for all use areas, and enhance aesthetic and function park components
