When Merit Energy Company of Dallas, Texas was looking for a consulting firm to guide them through the myriad of State of Michigan regulations and implement Merit Energy’s environmentally responsible business plan, they selected Gosling Czubak.

Commercial Property Environmental Assessment

Phase II ESA activities, including soil and groundwater sampling, as well as a ground penetrating radar (GPR) survey for suspected underground storage tanks.  

Four Corners Remediation System

Gasoline and fuel releases were confirmed at four different gas stations at Front and Division Streets in Traverse City. Gosling Czubak designed a remediation system to clean the site. 

MAERS Reporting

A sand and gravel mining company prepared and submitted a Michigan Air Emission Report System (MAERS) report to the state.

SPCC Plans

Multiple Michigan oil and gas producers are required to prepare a Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plan and describe measures it implemented to prevent oil discharges from reaching surface waters.  

Greenhouse Gas Reporting

Greenhouse gas (GHG) reporting has been completed for large oil and gas producers in Michigan as required by 40 CFR Part 98 Subpart W.  

EPCRA Reporting

Title III of Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act (SARA) is the Emergency Planning and Community Right-To-Know Act (EPCRA).

Mini Mart LUST Investigation/ Remediation

The UST excavation was dewatered as part of removal and new tank installation activities. Contaminated groundwater was treated with a two-stage granular activated carbon system with the treated water discharged, under an NPDES permit, to the Elk River.

Agribusiness Food Processor

Gosling Czubak conducted a comprehensive hydrogeologic and remedial investigation for a fruit processing facility.

The City of East Jordan had anecdotal information of at least one unmarked grave near Sunset Hill Cemetery. Curious, City officials asked Gosling Czubak to investigate using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR).

In conjunction with well staking, Gosling Czubak has provided construction staking for thousands of miles of  oil and gas flowlines and pipelines.

Facility Mapping

Gosling Czubak has completed hundreds of as-built surveys for oil and gas facilities including locating underground and overhead utilities and piping.

Wastewater Treatment Plant

Gosling Czubak completed design of a new 582,000 gallon per day extended aeration mechanical plant/lagoon hybrid process wastewater treatment plant for the Village of Elk Rapids in Antrim County.

Water System Improvements

Gosling Czubak provided design and permitting services for a new 450 GPM water supply well, a 500,000 gallon ground storage reservoir and 11,000 feet of 16" water main to connect the new reservoir to the water system in the Township.

New Wells and Water Main

Within the last several years, Gosling Czubak has designed two new high capacity wells (900 gpm each) for the Village of Kalkaska.

Well Staking & Permitting

Gosling Czubak has staked and helped permit more than 4,000 wells throughout Lower Michigan since 1973. We have been on the forefront of implementing new, innovative, and cost-effective methods of locating and staking wells. 

Woodstone Development

Gosling Czubak has provided the surveying and engineering services necessary to develop this 80-acre single-family residential condominium community.

Environmental Consulting

Gosling Czubak provided permitting and compliance services to various mining operations throughout the State of Michigan.

Hay Lake Park & Marina

Redevelopment of private marina to 30-slip public marina, boat launch, kayak launch, parking, and UA bathrooms. Amenities include walks, parking and LID storm water measures. Funded by MNRTF and MDNR grant funds.

Wetlands Delineation

Gosling Czubak identified and delineated wetlands in a right-of-way for a power transmission line near Traverse City, Michigan, utilizing U.S. Army Corps of Engineers methodology. 

Wetland Determination

Gosling Czubak identified and delineated wetlands on a parcel subject to a proposed expansion of an assembly plant.  The presence of wetlands was determined using existing resources and discussions with the MDEQ. 

Baker's Acres Wetlands Consulting

Gosling Czubak identified and delineated wetlands on a vacant parcel for a proposed commercial development.  After a pre-application meeting was conducted with the MDEQ to present various development options, a commercially-viable site plan was developed that minimized impacts and provided mitigation via a Conservation Easement. A permit for the project was subsequently approved by the MDEQ. 

Arcadia Dunes Barrier Free Boardwalk and Overlook

The focus of the planning and preliminary design development is to create accessible (5% slope) trail segments as part of the existing resource area trail loops.

Arcadia Marsh UA Boardwalk Trail

Gosling Czubak assisted the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy in the design of a ¾ mile boardwalk through the 273 acre marsh preserve, which allows access for all abilities to immerse themselves in the unique marsh environment.

Pyatt Lake Natural Area UA Boardwalk

Gosling Czubak worked with the Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancy to design a replacement boardwalk trail system and overlook at Pyatt Lake Natural Preserve.
